Road to Eidfjord
Jetlag hit me rather hard the next day. After copious amounts of coffee, I recovered and felt the anxious excitement to get moving. We had breakfast at the hotel, packed our things, and hit the road.
Having a crippling inability to drive manual, we were gifted a hybrid BMW by Auto Europe. It didn't take long for us to come across Bratte Svaberg a nice picnic spot along the beautiful lake. It's a long E16 on the drive from Oslo to Bergen. I tried to pull it up on maps to share the location, but couldn't find it.
We drove through a long tunnel and when we emerged there was snow.
A lot of snow as it turned out, but we weren't far from our destination. First stop, Eidfjord 65km before moving on to Bergen.
Our last tunnel for the day before we made it to our B&B for the evening.
There wasn't any more snow, but there was a remote B&B that looked out over a fjord. We spent the night at Eidfjord Gjestgiveri. In the warmer months, you can stay in private cabins on the property. They have a shared bathroom in the main building with showers. Since we are traveling during off season there was only one other family there at the time and we didn't run into any issues with the shared bathroom. We get that it's probably not for everyone, but we didn't mind it at all.
The view from our home for the night was pretty awe-inspiring. The inside was beautiful too.
We had dinner in a hotel on the other side of (yet another tunnel).
